You can encounter a lot of problems in your house when summer arrives.  You will encounter bug and weed problems during the summer so here are a few tips to help you take care of these problems:

1.  Bugs get trapped to the outdoor fixture leaving a huge mess of winged bodies.  Reduce this problem by changing the light to a yellow light.  This will attract fewer insects because bug’s vision is drawn to the ultraviolet end of the light spectrum.  You can also use an energy saving fluorescent bulb with a yellow lens.

2.  Floodlights mounted on the sides of buildings also keep the bugs away.

3.  You can tackle weed problems by making sure that weed filled cracks are thoroughly cleaned.  Use a pump sprayer with its nozzle set to a wisp thin stream to spray herbicide in the weed filled cracks.  Allow them to dry for a day before cleaning them with power and hand tools.  After getting the crack clean, apply a liquid or caulk asphalt filler and smooth the area with a metal putty knife.
