After you’ve bought and settled into your new house on a new neighborhood, the next thing you should do is get to know your neighbors.  Getting friendly with the neighbors can pose a lot of benefits like helping you with house repairs, giving you tips to keep your house in good condition and they can keep an eye on your house while you’re out.

Follow these easy and simple attitude tips to help you gain a neighbor:

1. Meet your neighbors.  Greet them when you’re taking out the trash or when getting the mail.
2. Keep them informed with what you’re doing that may affect them like throwing a party or building a fence.
3. Be aware of differences like age, religion, marital status and ethnic background to avoid conflicts.
4. Look for things in common to draw you closer to your neighbors.
5. Communication is the key.  If something is bothering you about your neighbor, let your neighbor know in a possible and factual way.  When an agree confrontation arises, take your time to think and reflect.  It is better to talk and think straight with cooler heads.
